Myasthenia Gravis

Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune contractile organ disease and due to which muscle weakness and other weakness comes in the body. In disease of the neuromuscular junction, antibodies block, alter, or destroy the receptors for neurotransmitter that prevents the contraction from occurring. These antibodies are created by the body’s own system.

Muscles become more and more weaker following ever-briefer periods of activity and improve once ever-lengthening periods of rest, and muscles that management eye and palpebral movement, facial expressions, chewing, talking, and swallowing are particularly inclined, though because the malady progresses muscles that management respiration and limb movements may become affected.

The condition is a lot of common in ladies below forty years elderly and in men over sixty  and infant myasthenia happens in 12% of infants born to MG mothers.

Myasthenia is treated medically with acetyl cholinesterase inhibitors or immunosuppressant’s, and, in designated cases, thymectomy. The malady incidence is 3–30 cases per million per annum and rising as a results of accrued awareness.
